Primary school
In order for your child to start primary school, you must contact the district school in the area in which the child lives. It is the district school that can enroll the student.
Registration in SFO (school leisure scheme)
Once your child has been admitted to a school, you have the opportunity to enroll in SFO. This must be done via Digital Childcare Place Allocation (Digital pladsanvisning).
It is important that you have NemID / MitID to be able to access the Digital Place Allocation Guide.
You can choose between the following SFO offers:
SFO I
0. – 3. grade:

Full-day place (care before school hours and after school hours)
- Afternoon place (after-school care)
- Morning place (care before school)
SFO II
4. – 6. grade:
- 1 day a week (after schooltime)
- 2 days a week (after schooltime)
- 3 days a week (after schooltime))
- 4 and 5 days a week (after schooltime)
In 4th grade, morningplace can also be purchased.
Admission to the waiting list for day care
To be allocated a place in day care, your child must be placed on a waiting list. This must be done digitally in the Digital Place Guide.
It is important that you have NemID / MitID to be able to access the Digital Place Guide.
Financial free space subsidy - Subsidy for payment of day care and SFO
If the family's total household income is below a certain limit, you can get an extra subsidy from the municipality, so it will be cheaper or completely free to have the child in day care. It is called a financial free space subsidy. You must apply for a financial free place subsidy from the municipality to be eligible for the subsidy.
The household income is calculated on the basis of the persons who live in a marriage-like relationship with each other. That is, if one e.g. living with his sister or parent, their income will not be included in the calculation of the total household income.
